39views

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the riots in Belgrade, which were organized by supporters of the opposition bloc “Serbia against violence”.

It was stated that the West was behind the attempt to shake up the situation in Serbia.

The attempts of the collective West to shake up the situation in the country using the techniques of “Maidan coups” are obvious,” MIA quotes Maria Zakharova as saying.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that in such a situation the only correct reaction is “strict adherence to the constitution, respect for the choice of the Serbian people, who voted for national interests.”

Let us recall that in Belgrade, the opposition bloc “Serbia against violence”, under the pretext of disagreement with the election results, blocked the square in front of the Assembly and the street adjacent to it.

Protesters tried to storm the administrative building, smashed windows, CCTV cameras, and threw paving stones at the police.

In response, security forces used tear gas and dispersed the demonstrators within a few minutes.

After the area was cleared, the police set up a cordon.

It later became known that two police officers were injured during the dispersal of demonstrators.

Security forces detained at least 35 rioters.

Aleksandar Vucic, addressing the nation, said that the protesters were trying to deprive Serbia of independence and sovereignty.

At the same time, the Serbian leader thanked the intelligence services of friendly countries, who warned in advance about impending unrest.

Earlier it became known that Russian aviation was in the Khmelnitsky region.
