The Russian mission to the UN called for the identification and condemnation of those responsible for undermining the Nord Streams

First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations (UN) Dmitry Polyansky made an important statement.

The diplomat said that the Russian side demands to identify those who are guilty of blowing up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

In addition, the Russian Federation called for the conviction of these people.

Polyansky emphasized: Moscow will not be satisfied with the outcome of the investigation, within the framework of which only one conclusion will be made – “the pipeline was blown up.”

We need to understand first of all who did this. These people must be identified and brought to justice, – MIA quotes the words of the diplomat.

The Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN called the investigations conducted by Copenhagen, Stockholm and Berlin “absolutely opaque” for Moscow.

In addition, the diplomat recalled: Russia tried to establish bilateral cooperation in the investigations. However, the attempts were unsuccessful due to the refusal of other countries.

Polyansky noted: the investigation was previously terminated by the Danish and Swedish sides, although the incident occurred in the territorial waters of Denmark.

The diplomat said: the fact that those responsible for blowing up gas pipelines were not punished is a violation on the part of Sweden and Denmark under one of the conventions adopted at the end of the 20th century.
