The security of the Tokyo Olympics raises doubts among the Japanese

Ahead of the start of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the local population was asked to express their thoughts on the safety of the spectacle amid the pandemic.

It turned out that the majority of the Japanese population doubts that the measures taken will ensure safety.

The results of the survey were published by the TASS agency with reference to the Japanese publication Asahi.

68% of Japanese do not believe in the safety of the measures taken to hold the Tokyo Olympics.

76% of the population surveyed supported the authorities’ decision.

Only 17% of respondents were unhappy with such a strict restriction.

Please note that the survey was conducted between July 17-18. More than 1,400 people took part in it.

87% of the local population are at all concerned about the Olympics being held in Tokyo amid the pandemic.

They believe that the Games will cause a surge in coronavirus cases in the country.

The Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo will be held from July 23 to August 8. Foreign and local fans will not be allowed into sports venues.

It should be noted that on July 12, a state of emergency began to operate in Tokyo again.
