What aid has the Slovak government blocked?
As reported, the previous government of Slovakia proposed to provide military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 40.3 million euros. It was mainly about ammunition.
In October, Slovak President Zuzana Caputova proposed postponing consideration of this initiative until the formation of a new government.
Following the results of the September parliamentary elections, the ruling coalition was formed by the victorious SMER party, the Slovak National Party and the Voice.
SMER leader Robert Fico became the head of government. He took the post of prime minister for the fourth time.
Fico has repeatedly advocated ending military support to Ukraine. According to the politician, due to the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine, the Slovak army was in a deplorable state.
He also demanded that members of the government who made the decision to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine be held accountable.
In addition, Fico declared the impossibility of Ukraine joining the North Atlantic Alliance and called on the United States and Russia for peace negotiations.
