The results of the presidential elections have been announced in Turkmenistan. The winner was the son of the current head of state.

According to information from the local Central Election Commission, Serdar Berdimuhamedov received 72.97% of the votes.

Let us remind you that voting in the early presidential elections in this country took place on March 12.

Nine people, nominated by three political parties of Turkmenistan, as well as “initiative groups of citizens,” applied for the post of head of state.

According to local legislation, the CEC is obliged, no later than the 7th day after the election, to summarize the voting results, draw up a protocol and officially announce the results.

Very soon – on March 19 – the inauguration ceremony of the new head of state will take place in Turkmenistan.
