Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Dmitry Razumkov was dismissed.

This is evidenced by the results of the vote held in the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, October 7.

According to Ukrainian media, 284 parliamentarians voted for the decision, with the required minimum of 226 votes.

The “for” button was pressed by 215 deputies from the ruling party “Servant of the People” and 20 representatives of the political movement “Fatherland”.

In addition, the decision to resign Razumkov was supported by 19 members of the “For the Future” deputy group, 18 representatives of the “Doverie” association, 6 members of the “Golos” faction and 6 non-factional deputies.

74 Ukrainian parliamentarians spoke out against it. Most of them are representatives of the opposition parties “European Solidarity” and “Opposition Platform – For Life”.

After the voting was completed, Razumkov noted that he had no intention of leaving politics.

The name of the new chairman of the Verkhovna Rada has not yet been announced.

It is worth noting that during the parliamentary elections that took place in Ukraine in 2019, Dmitry Razumkov headed the list of the Servant of the People party.

Many representatives of this particular political movement voted today for the resignation of the speaker.

Razumkov has served as Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament since August 29, 2019.
