The Spectator found out why the West will not supply F-16 fighters to Ukraine

The British magazine The Spectator found out why the West does not want to supply F-16 fighters to Ukraine.

According to information published on the pages of this publication, it’s all about the Russian network of ground-based anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM).

Western countries are afraid of losing combat aircraft because they are convinced that the sky above the contact line in Ukraine is covered with many “layers” of Russian air defense.

The article notes that we are talking about a wide variety of systems: from large long-range systems (S-400 Triumph air defense system) to medium-range mobile systems (Buk) and short-range systems (Tor).

In addition, the publication states that Moscow has deployed long-range target detection systems, such as the 48Ya6-K1 Podlet radar stations, – MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

These systems are capable of shooting down enemy planes and helicopters far behind the front line, the magazine claims.
