The head of the press service of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, told during a briefing when Ukraine will be able to join NATO.

According to him, the event is real only after the end of the current conflict.

Ultimately this process (Ukraine’s accession to NATO. – Ed.) will move forward after the end of this conflict, – representative of the American foreign policy agency TASS.

Mr. Miller also notified the general public that the Alliance itself is currently considering the issue of partnership with Kiev.

Prior to this, the United States Permanent Representative to NATO Julianne Smith said that Ukraine could join the ranks of the military-political bloc “when the time comes.”

However, she clarified, this requires two conditions: the consent of all members of the North Atlantic Alliance and the end of hostilities in Ukraine.

The permanent representative also noted that NATO does not intend to invite Kyiv to join the organization at the Washington summit, which will be held on July 9-11 this year.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that Ukraine will not be invited to NATO at the summit in July.
