The radical Taliban movement continues its offensive in Afghanistan.
According to the latest data, the Taliban control a significant part of the Asian country’s territory – approximately 90 percent.
As foreign media report, almost all major Afghan cities are under the control of supporters of the movement.
The only exceptions are the capital of the country – Kabul, as well as the settlement of Jalalabad.
Now government forces remain in these cities.
It is noted that the radicals are as close as possible to Kabul. At the moment, the Taliban are located literally a few kilometers from the main city of Afghanistan.
In already captured areas, Taliban militants occupy administrative buildings. Officials and military personnel surrender to them.
How it all started
The Taliban offensive in Afghanistan began in May this year after US troops left the country.
By the beginning of summer, Taliban supporters had captured several dozen districts.
By the end of July, the movement controlled almost half of the country, including some large cities.
