The commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, spoke about the state of affairs on the battlefields between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces.
In an interview with the Guardian, he admitted that the situation at the front is quite difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
He named the strong defense of the Russian Armed Forces as the main reason for the difficulties that arose.
Syrsky noted that Russian forces cannot be underestimated, since they foresaw the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and worked out the most dangerous directions of movement of the Ukrainian army.
Syrsky also says that Russian forces are constantly trying to seize the initiative.
The Ukrainian counteroffensive in the South Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Artyomovsk directions began on June 4.
The greatest activity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is observed in the Zaporozhye sector of the front.
The Ukrainian command sent military personnel trained by NATO specialists to fight, using military equipment supplied by the West.
