The UN is ready to investigate the missile attack on the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka

The United Nations has issued a statement of readiness to investigate the circumstances of the shelling of the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka (DPR).

According to the official statement, the UN may send a team of experts to the location to investigate.

In particular, the deputy representative of the organization’s Secretary General, Farhan Haq, notified the general public of such intentions.

In connection with the recent tragedy in the prison in Elenovka, we are ready to send a group of experts capable of conducting an investigation with the permission of the parties, – official of MIA “Russia Today”.

Mr. Haque also said that the UN fully supports the initiatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense informed about 50 dead and 73 wounded Ukrainian prisoners as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strike on a pre-trial detention center from the American “chimera”.

And the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, called the shelling deliberate. According to his version, Kyiv took such a step because the prisoners in the pre-trial detention center began to testify.
