According to Guterres, the threat of a new Cold War with “serious nuclear overtones,” the situation in the Middle East, terrorism, internal strife over old grievances and the explosive growth of extreme nationalism are signs of the division of our world.

Among other threats to the world, the UN Secretary General listed the spread of disease and hunger, growing social inequality, and climate change.

Guterres warned graduates that they were entering a world full of dangers.

According to him, humanity is facing conflict and division on a scale not seen in decades.

From Yemen to Syria, from Ethiopia to the Sahel, – noted the head of the organization.

Separately, the UN Secretary General focused on the Ukrainian conflict. According to Guterres, it causes enormous suffering, destruction and death.
