The UN Security Council voted to approve the resolution proposed by the United States on the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The document is aimed at supporting a new initiative regarding a truce between Israel and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas.

According to TASS, 14 out of 15 Security Council members voted for the resolution, while Russia abstained from voting.

Please note: the American resolution includes 7 points, the first of which is a call on Hamas to accept the agreement.

In addition, all parties to the conflict are called upon to fully implement the agreement “without any conditions or delay.”

Separately, the document states: if the dialogue on a peaceful settlement drags on for more than a month and a half, then “the ceasefire will remain in effect as long as negotiations are ongoing.”

The resolution also calls on all UN member countries to support the implementation of the agreement.

The document confirms the commitment to resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine on the basis of peaceful coexistence of two states.

Earlier it became known that the Maldives can be entered into the country with Israeli passports.
