The US allowed Ukraine to lose Odessa after the NATO summit

0views

On Tuesday, July 11, the NATO summit will begin in Lithuania.

Former adviser to the US Secretary of Defense Douglas McGregor does not rule out that the event will ultimately lead to the loss of an important city by Ukraine.

The American colonel believes that the Ukrainian side may lose Odessa.

According to McGregor, the Russian Armed Forces have the opportunity to establish control over this large populated area.

The final NATO decision could force Putin to launch an active offensive in Ukraine all the way to Odessa, – MIA quotes Douglas McGregor as saying.

The ex-adviser to the head of the United States Department of Defense believes that the Russian President has no desire to escalate the conflict. Putin’s goal, according to McGregor, is to protect Russian territory.

According to the American serviceman, this explains the fact that the Russian Armed Forces do not take control of the remaining cities of Ukraine.

However, the situation may change after the end of the NATO summit, McGregor suggests.

The expert does not rule out an escalation of the Ukrainian conflict after the end of the event.
