The US and NATO are ready for a new dialogue with Russia

0views

On Friday, January 14, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The parties discussed a plan for further actions for interaction with Russia after the meeting of representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance with representatives of the Russian Federation on January 12.

Yesterday, the US State Department said that the US and NATO are ready for a new “live” dialogue with Moscow.

Washington and NATO are “committed to continuing diplomatic engagement and reciprocal dialogue” with the Kremlin, State Department press officer Ned Price said in a statement.

It also notes that the United States and NATO call on Russia to immediately take measures to “de-escalate its ongoing aggression against Ukraine.”

Let us recall that Russia insists on providing the United States with security guarantees, and NATO is recommended to stop expanding towards Eastern Europe and “roll back” to the positions of the 90s of the last century.

Negotiations on these issues were held with the United States in Geneva on January 10, and two days later with NATO (in Brussels).

The next day, January 13, a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council took place in Vienna.
