The US Senate blocked the draft law on aid to Ukraine

31views

In the Senate of the American Congress, a draft law on the allocation of additional financial resources to provide assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan was blocked.

The document did not pass the procedural vote required for the bill to be officially submitted for consideration.

The TASS agency spoke about an unpleasant moment for Kyiv, noting that, according to the mentioned document, it was proposed to allocate $61 billion to help Ukraine.

In total, $106 billion was allocated to help Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

The question of starting consideration of the said draft law was put to a vote in the Senate.

This could take place if the initiative was supported by at least 60 senators.

But only 49 people voted for the discussion, while 51 members of the Upper House of Congress voted against it.

Let us add that support for Ukraine is being blocked by Republicans, who demand that clauses on security measures on the US border with Mexico be included in the draft.
