We are talking about a cruise missile. According to a statement from Air Force officials, the tests were successful.
It is known that the rocket was launched from the southern coast of California. During its flight, it reached speeds five times the speed of sound.
This was a great achievement for the development team for the military sector and for our Air Force, – Head of the US Air Force weapons program Heath Collins MIA “Russia Today”.
It is noted that the tests were the first launch of this type of cruise missile from an air carrier.
Earlier, in early April, representatives of the Pentagon’s Advanced Research Projects Agency announced success in testing another hypersonic missile – produced by Lockheed Martin.
Then that rocket reached a speed exceeding Mach five (more than 5,966 kilometers per hour).
It rose to a height of about 12 kilometers and flew about 550 kilometers.
