The Washington Post found out when the United States will send Abrams tanks to Ukraine

Journalists from the authoritative American newspaper The Washington Post found out when the United States will send its Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

According to them, the transfer may not happen earlier than the end of this year.

Separately, attention is drawn to the fact that the very fact of sending this type of military equipment to Ukraine made it possible to send German Leopards there more quickly.

The article says that Washington promised Kyiv to provide a battalion kit – 31 units.

We are talking about the main US tanks – Abrams M1A2. But these 31 units still need to be produced, the newspaper reports.

They will be built specifically for Ukraine without depleted uranium armor with delivery at the end of this year or next, – the publication of MIA “Russia Today”.

Journalists claim that at first Washington did not want to transfer the Abrams to Kyiv, arguing that it was difficult to operate such military equipment.

However, the position changed when it became known that Germany refused to send its “leopards” to Ukraine on its own – without the United States.

In addition, Berlin stated that it would also not allow those countries that have its tanks to do this.

The article says that after a telephone conversation between Joe Biden and Olaf Scholz, a solution was found that secured “Western unity” on the issue of supporting Ukraine.
