The Washington Times: Ukraine may be left without American weapons

49views

The American edition of The Washington Times writes that Ukraine risks being left without weapons from the United States due to problems with control over them.

Washington believes that strict control is needed over the future fate of the supplied weapons.

This is discussed in Mike Glenn’s article for .

Why Ukraine may lose its weapons

The author of the article recalls that since last summer, the United States has already sent 15 military aid packages to Ukraine, including helicopters, drones, artillery missile systems, anti-tank systems, howitzers and ammunition.

Commenting on these data to the publication, retired Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis noted that arms supplies are not a strategy and are unlikely to help turn the tide of Russia’s special operation.

The military man also announced a “complete breakdown” of the military supply system in Ukraine. According to him, weapons and ammunition do not reach the front.

That is why Ukraine is being methodically pushed further and further away, – he said.

The publication notes that the US Congress is in favor of strengthening control over arms supplies to Ukraine.

Senator John Kennedy, for example, proposes to establish a special position for this, and his colleague Mike Lee calls not to spend extra money on military assistance to Kyiv against the backdrop of internal problems.

The publication also cites a statement by Colonel Mark Kanchan, who believes that the opinion of the American public regarding military assistance to Kyiv may change, since Ukraine is an “extremely ineffective” country mired in corruption.

If people see evidence, for example, of how oligarchs buy yachts with American money, this will undermine popular support, – explained the military man.
