The winner of the presidential elections in Uzbekistan has been announced

The head of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, Zainiddin Nizamkhodjaev, announced the name of the winner of the early presidential elections in the country.

He became the current head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as evidenced by the results of the past campaign, according to the chairman of the Central Election Commission.

He recalled that, according to local law, victory goes to the candidate who gets 50% plus one vote.

Since Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to preliminary data, received 87.05% of the votes, according to the law he was elected president, – Nizamkhodzhaev TASS agency.

Mirziyoyev’s closest competitors lagged behind the winner quite significantly.

Thus, the first deputy head of the Supreme Court of the republic, Robakhon Makhmudova, who finished the campaign in second place, received only 4.43% of the votes.

In third place is the leader of the People’s Democratic Party Ulugbek Inoyatov (4.02%), in fourth place is the head of the Ecological Party Abdushukur Khamzaev (3.74%).

According to the head of the Central Election Commission, 0.76% of ballots were declared invalid. The reason is errors made when filling out.

It is reported that 15,651,405 people participated in the voting – 79.8% of registered voters.

Zainiddin Nizamkhodjaev drew attention to the fact that the elections were held openly, transparently and democratically.
