The world’s largest coral reef has been discovered, the existence of which no one knew

34views

Off the coast of Tahiti in French Polynesia, oceanologists discovered the world’s largest coral reef, which also turned out to be completely untouched by people.

Compared to other similar objects, it is in noticeably better condition, since no one knew about it.

This is the world’s largest coral reef preserved in its natural state.

It is possible that it was protected from the attention of people due to the fact that it was located at a greater depth, where the water temperature is much lower.

The impeccable condition of the rose-shaped corals and the extent of the territory they cover is a very unusual discovery, RadioMir quotes the researchers’ comments.

The discovered reef is more than three kilometers long, and in some places its width ranges from 30 to 65 meters.

The depth of the find is 35-70 meters.

The corals discovered by scientists in some places reach two meters in circumference.

The find can be called surprising, since due to climate changes observed in recent years, objects such as the Great Barrier Reef (Australian coast) have been severely damaged.
