On August 3, a shooting occurred near the headquarters of the US Department of Defense.

At least 3 people were injured, the shooter was killed.

What is known about the shooting at the Pentagon

The shooting took place at a nearby metro station; the shooter did not enter the Pentagon building.

At the moment, three victims are known, among them a Pentagon security officer.

All victims were hospitalized, one was taken to the hospital by helicopter.

The cordon around the building has now been lifted, but the entrance to the metro station near which the shooting took place is still closed.
