There was a huge fire in central London this afternoon, June 28th. The cause was an explosion.

According to British media, one person was injured as a result of the incident at the Elephant & Castle metro station.

The injured citizen was receiving medical attention, London Fire Brigade officials said.

In total, 15 fire engines and about a hundred rescuers worked at the scene of the emergency.

According to the latest data from online sources, the fire destroyed three commercial buildings under the arches of the metro station.

It is known that the fire also engulfed six cars and a telephone booth.

Citizens who were in the railway station building and nearby houses were evacuated.

Many roads were blocked. Firefighters have asked residents to avoid the area and local residents to close their windows and doors while the fire is brought under control.

Earlier, the police in the British capital reported that the fire near the metro station was not related to the terrorist attack.
