The second round will take place. It is scheduled for July 5th.

The fact is that it was not possible to identify the winner ahead of schedule: none of the participants in the first round managed to get more than 50 percent of the votes.

According to Iranian law, in such a situation it is necessary to conduct another round of voting.

Results of the first round of Iranian presidential elections

The voting took place yesterday, June 28. Iranian voters had the opportunity to cast their votes from 08:00 to 00:30 Belarusian time.

According to information provided in Iranian media, more than 24.5 million ballots have been processed.

The winner of the first round was reformist Masoud Pezeshkian (44 percent of the votes). In second place is conservative Said Jalili (40 percent of the vote).

These two people, apparently, will become participants in the second round of elections.
