They demand Pashinyan’s resignation. Protesters block streets in Yerevan

Unrestful May 2 in the capital of Armenia – the opposition, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, blocks the streets in Yerevan.

It is known that as of ten o’clock in the morning Belarusian time, protesters blocked 15 streets, as well as Shaumyan Square in the city center.

However, there the security forces pushed back the citizens and detained some – MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

According to the publication, police cordoned off the government building.

Let us remind you that the Armenian opposition has been holding protests since April 25. Its leaders believe that the actions of the current authorities are destructive for the country and the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The opposition believes that Pashinyan’s policies pose a real threat of loss of statehood.

The day before, thousands of protesters gathered in the capital. They set up a tent camp in Place de France, where they remained all night.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament from the “Armenia” faction Ishkhan Saghatelyan said that large-scale actions of civil disobedience will start on the morning of May 2.

The opposition plans for the near future to block traffic in the center of Yerevan.
