Off the coast of the Turkish resort of Marmaris, popular among Belarusians and Russians, a tourist yacht with people on board burned down.

As a result of the incident, at least 17 people were reportedly injured.

Currently, three people, according to doctors, are in serious condition.

About the incident by MIA Rossiya Segodnya with reference to the Maritime Administration under the Ministry of Transport of Turkey.

According to the data released by the department, the tourist ship Eagles was on fire – 96 passengers and six crew members were evacuated from the yacht.

As a result of the incident, 17 people were injured: 14 were slightly injured, three in serious condition, the report says.

As far as is known, a wooden yacht 20 m long caught fire on July 14 at about four o’clock in the evening (the time coincides with Belarusian time).

What caused the fire on the ship is now being determined by experts.

According to local media, some people on the yacht jumped straight into the sea to escape the fire.

Please note: the foreign tourists who jumped off, as well as those who remained on the ship, were rescued by crews of nearby yachts, ships and the coast guard.

It is known that the burned ship completely sank; an investigation into the incident is underway.
