Thousands of Britons are demanding a referendum on the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions

0views

More than 10,000 Britons have signed a petition calling for a referendum on the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.

According to the document, the government of the country is invited to hold this event without delay – within a maximum of six months.

About this is the portal “HERE NEWS” with a link to the website of the British Parliament.

The government, unless it changes its policy, should hold a referendum on this issue in the UK within six months maximum, – the document says.

It also notes that Britain intervened in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict without the approval of its own people, who for this reason are now facing economic consequences.

As an example of the latter statement, the rise in energy prices, increase in interest rates, increase in inflation, taxes and unemployment are given.

Mention is made of struggling businesses, cuts to public services, strikes and the generally rising cost of living in the UK.

According to British rules, if a petition reaches more than 10,000 signatures, the government must respond to it.

If the document has collected 100,000 signatures, then it must be considered in parliament.
