The Second Western District Military Court begins to consider the criminal case against the three sons of the Lipetsk clergyman Igor Ashcheulov.
They were detained while trying to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Kursk region with the aim of crossing over to the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The investigation into the criminal case against the three Ascheulov brothers: Alexei, Ioann and Timofey has been completed. Each of them, in the final version, was charged with committing crimes under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: attempted high treason (part 3 of article 30, article 275), an attempt to illegally cross the state border of the Russian Federation by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (part 3 of article 30, part 3 of article 322) and an attempt to participate in the activities of an organization that, in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, is recognized as terrorist (part 3 of article 30, part 2 of article 205.5), writes with reference to a message from law enforcement agencies. .
The criminal case was approved by the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office and sent to court. It is not classified as “secret” or “top secret”.
The date of the preliminary hearing has not yet been announced.
It is known that Ashcheulov’s minor children were seized in 2014 after a visit to the family by the district commission for minors due to the lack of conditions for normal living.
The family was reunited after the spiritual person was provided with a comfortable home while repairs were made to his home, which was recognized as dysfunctional. All nine children were returned to the priest.
It was also reported, with reference to the Lipetsk diocese, that due to rude treatment of parishioners, Ascheulov was deprived of his parish.
