President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev replaced two deputy chairmen of the National Security Committee.
The new deputies are Bakytbek Kozhanov and Askar Amerkhanov. Deputy heads of the National Security Committee Marat Osipov and Daulet Ergozhin were dismissed.
This is stated in the order of the head of state, published on the official website of the President of Kazakhstan.
Let us recall that earlier, on January 5, Karim Masimov was relieved of his post as head of the National Security Committee.
On the same day, the vacant position was filled – the former head of the State Security Service, Ermek Sagimbayev, became the new head of the department.
A little later, information appeared in the media about Masimov’s detention – he is suspected of high treason.
A few days ago, on the air of one of the Kazakh TV channels, the opinion was voiced that the scale of the coup attempt may indicate betrayal in the highest echelons of power.
In particular, Doctor of Political Sciences, diplomat and public figure of Kazakhstan Ermukhamet Ertysbaev stated this on air on the Khabar-24 TV channel.
According to him, the National Security Committee hid information about extremist training camps located in the mountains.
