Advisers to former US President Donald Trump, who is about to return to the White House, are thinking about sanctions.

They are discussing the possibility of introducing them in relation to countries that do not want to use the American dollar in foreign trade.

TASS reported this with reference to the Bloomberg agency, which, in turn, refers to its own unnamed sources.

The latter claim that Trump’s team is mulling measures such as export controls, fines, tariffs and charges of currency manipulation.

Advisers are said to have identified developing countries, including the BRICS states, as targets for such sanctions.

They justify their intention by the desire to “reduce risks for the currency” of the United States.

Earlier in Switzerland the lifting of sanctions that were not adopted by the UN Security Council.
