In Alaska, an 8.2 magnitude earthquake could trigger a powerful tsunami.
A tsunami threat was declared by the American Disaster Prevention Center NWS.
Tremors were recorded this morning 91 kilometers southeast of the small town of Perryville.
The outbreak lay at a depth of almost 47 kilometers.
The first tremors were estimated at 7.3 points, the next at 8.1 and 8.2.
Alaska is “shaking” even now – at these minutes, scientists recorded an aftershock at level 6.2.
There is no information about casualties or destruction. At the same time, US warning systems predict that a tsunami will arrive on the southern coastline of Alaska within the hour.
If the water element overtakes Alaska, there is a high probability that within a few hours the tsunami will reach Kamchatka, however, a tsunami threat has not been declared in the Russian region.
