43views

Turkey announced negotiations with Ukraine, Russia and the United Nations on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports.

Negotiations will take place in Istanbul next week.

Milliyet reports this, citing sources in the office of the head of the Turkish state.

What is known about the negotiations

According to the publication, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres are expected to participate in the negotiations.

If the “Istanbul mechanism” works, in the next 6-8 months about 35-40 million tons of grain will be exported from Ukraine through the Bosporus and Dardanelles to world markets.

It is planned that grain export will begin within a month after the relevant agreements are reached. Trade ships will be the first to depart from the ports of Odessa.

Let us recall that last week it became known that Moscow, Kyiv and Ankara created an emergency communication channel through the defense departments to discuss the export of grain from Ukrainian ports.
