Official Ankara claims that it has explained to Moscow the situation with the extradition of Azov* commanders to Ukraine.

In particular, this statement was made by the representative of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey, Omer Celik.

On our part, appropriate explanations were given, the situation became clearer, – policy of MIA “Russia Today”.

According to Mr. Celik, there is no tension in Russian-Turkish relations.

However, he did not specify exactly who, when and under what conditions argued on this issue.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry said that the Kremlin regards the extradition of the Ukrainian military to Kyiv as a violation of the agreements.

He added that this topic would be discussed with Ankara and, at that time, Peskov clarified, the corresponding process had already started.

The official representative of the Kremlin recalled: according to the agreements reached, Azov fighters* were supposed to remain on Turkish soil until the end of the conflict.

In Peskov’s opinion, Ankara handed them over to Kyiv “early” under pressure from the West against the backdrop of the failures of the Ukrainian counter-offensive and the NATO summit in Lithuania.

During our dialogue, we expect to receive clarification from the Turkish side about what happened, and we will take it into account in the next agreements,” the official said then.
