12views

The Turkish authorities decided to suspend air traffic with several countries.

The reason is the spread of new strains of the pathogen SARS-CoV-2.

Starting July 1, it will no longer be possible to arrive in the Republic of Turkey by plane from certain regions of Asia, Africa and South America.

Relevant information on the official website of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Which countries will Türkiye suspend flights with?

Starting next month, direct flights to the Republic of Turkey from the following countries will be cancelled:

  • Bangladesh;
  • Brazil;
  • Nepal;
  • India;
  • Sri Lanka;
  • Republic of South Africa.

It is noted that the decision to suspend will remain in effect until there is a special order to restore air traffic.

If a person who arrived in Turkey has been in at least one of the above countries during the last two weeks, then he will need to present documents confirming the absence of COVID-19.

Even if the tourist is healthy, he will have to serve a two-week quarantine.

“Indian” strain

India is included in the list of countries with which Türkiye is temporarily suspending flights.

It was here that the “delta” strain of coronavirus, which is highly contagious, was identified.

Moreover, this type of pathogen can cause the development of COVID-19 even in people vaccinated with local vaccines – Covaxin and Covishield.
