Early presidential elections will be held in Turkmenistan. The vote is scheduled for March 12, 2022.
The day before, at an extraordinary meeting of the upper house of the country’s parliament, current head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made an important statement.
According to him, it is necessary to give the way to governing the state to young people.
In this regard, the head of the CEC was instructed to begin relevant work in accordance with the Constitution and the legislation of the country.

The last presidential elections took place in 2017. If not for the instructions of the current President, the next elections would have been held in 2024.
