Two more gang members of Basayev and Khattab were detained

Russian special services detained two more former members of the terrorist gang, Shamil Basayev and Khattab. One lived in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the second in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

The detainees are accused of attacking Russian military personnel in 1999 in Chechnya.

Two more former members of the gang of Shamil Basayev and Khattab, who took part in the attack on military personnel in Chechnya in 1999, were detained, MIA reports with reference to the RF Investigative Committee and the FSB.

The first detainee, Murtazali Alimgireev, lived in Novy Urengoy (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug).

Another former Chechen militant, Alimkhan Kadrashov, is in Lyantor (KhMAD).

The investigation has evidence that in 1999 both were members of a gang that, under the leadership of Basayev and Khattab, carried out an attack on Russian military personnel in the village of Chervlennaya (Chechnya).

Then 15 servicemen were killed and 28 were injured.

The detainees were charged with committing crimes, liability for which is provided for in Art. 279, part 2 art. 209, art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (armed rebellion, participation in a gang and encroachment on the lives of military personnel).

By decision of the Novy Urengoy City Court and the Surgut City Court, both were taken into custody.
