Ukraine announced the shutdown of most thermal power plants

0views

Due to a shortage of coal in Ukraine, more than half of thermal power plants stopped operating.

Ukrainian parliamentarian Ivan Krulko made a corresponding statement on the Nash TV channel.

The deputy noted that at the moment only 37 of 88 thermal power plants are operating in the country.

According to a member of the Verkhovna Rada, many non-functioning thermal power plants stopped working due to lack of fuel.

Problems are also observed with powerful thermal power plants, for example, with the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant near Kyiv.

Krulko said that the energy situation in the country is extremely tense. It is unknown what will happen in the future.

The deputy did not rule out that there could be rolling power outages in Ukraine that would affect some healthcare institutions.

Ivan Krulko became a people’s deputy of Ukraine in 2014. He was re-elected in the 2019 parliamentary elections.

The parliamentarian is a representative of Yulia Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchyna party.
