Representative of the Ukrainian Army Air Forces Ilya Yevlash announced the date of the appearance of F-16 fighters in the country.
According to him, the first of these combat air vehicles could be delivered to Kyiv after Easter (this year falls on May 5).
At the same time, he noted that Ukraine will accept even faulty equipment that can be used for spare parts.
Yevlash noted: any equipment wears out over time, and during operation requires maintenance, including replacement of parts.
Therefore, aircraft that are no longer even capable of fully performing combat missions can serve as excellent donors, – representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
He said that from one piece of equipment it is possible to replace 5 samples.
However, everything depends on the complexity of the breakdowns and what condition the donor fighters will be in,” Yevlash said.
And he added: this applies not only to aircraft, but to all types of international weapons.
Let us remind you that the Netherlands and Denmark were the first in the West to agree to supply F-16s to Ukraine.
The White House said that Kyiv will receive these fighters from third countries after Ukrainian pilots complete the appropriate training.
Earlier, Norway announced additional funds for Ukraine – it will allocate another $630 million for it.
