Ukraine excluded Raiffeisen Bank from the list of “war sponsors”

35views

The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) of Ukraine no longer considers the Austrian banking group Raiffeisen Bank International an “international war sponsor.”

In this regard, the department is suspending the corresponding status previously given to her.

This means that Kyiv has officially excluded the world-famous banking company from the “sponsors of the war.”

This is information from MIA Rossiya Segodnya with reference to the NAPC website.

The status is suspended for the period of bilateral consultations with the involvement of representatives of the European Commission, the agency said in a statement.

Ukrainian media note that Raiffeisen Bank was included in the register of “war sponsors” in March of this year.

The reason for this, according to them, was the fact that Raiffeisen Bank at one time decided to continue operating in Russia, where it was considered one of the “systemically important” banks.

It is separately noted that the Austrians “took 200% advantage of the sanctions,” as a result of which their competitors left the Russian Federation.

And on Saturday, December 16, Western media reported that Vienna withdrew its objection to the 12th anti-Russian package of EU sanctions after the exclusion of Raiffeisen Bank from the blacklist of Ukraine.

Previously, Orban imposed 50 billion euros for Ukraine.
