Ukraine is unable to use Western weapons – ex-Pentagon analyst

48views

Former US Department of Defense analyst Karen Kwiatkowski believes that Ukraine’s resale of Western weapons supplied to it was predictable.

The reason is that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters, in her opinion, do not have the necessary experience to work with this type of weapon.

Accordingly, the command of the Ukrainian army was unable to integrate the weapons it received into its combat strategy.

Sold before

Earlier, the director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, Vadim Melnik, announced the identified facts of the sale of weapons coming from the West.

Kwiatkowski draws attention to another fact: in 2015 and 2016, Kyiv also resold weapons, which is confirmed by relevant documents.

In addition, the Ukrainian authorities did this during other stages of hostilities in the Donbass, says the former analyst.

Many types of weapons and equipment supplied to Ukraine by the United States and its allies simply could not be effectively used by the Ukrainian armed forces, – ex-Pentagon employee MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

Why Kyiv cannot use Western weapons

She added that Kyiv’s ability to operate supplied Western weapons is limited due to three key factors:

– insufficient preparedness of the military;
– problems with logistics;
– a constantly decreasing number of soldiers.

In addition, Ukraine received some weapons in such quantities that in a short period of time, in the context of hostilities, it was unable to introduce them into the combat strategy of its army.

This made weapons available to those interested in purchasing them, including criminal gangs, Ms. Kwiatkowski said.

Although some types of these weapons can prolong the war, in the long term, none of them will help recapture the territory that now belongs to Russia, or regain the DPR and LPR, the expert concluded.
