Retired US Marine Colonel Mark Cancian predicts far from rosy prospects for Ukraine regarding missiles for HIMARS.
In his opinion, in just a few months Kyiv may lose such weapons, by the way, American ones.
He shared his thoughts on this matter in an article published by the publication.
According to the military forecast, Ukraine will lose this type of missile in the near future: his calculations indicate a period of 1 to 4 months.
Three to four months is a pretty bold guess, but I wouldn’t call it crazy. Some people tend to think that the rockets will run out in a month or so. But I don’t think the Ukrainians are spending them at such a rate,” Cancian said.
According to his analysis, the moment will come when the United States will reduce the volume of chimera missiles supplied to Kyiv, and its own reserves will begin to decline.
In addition, the number of such missiles is limited: about 50,000 units were produced in the United States, and only 5,800 shells are expected to be purchased this fiscal year.
