Ukrainian serviceman Alexander Lazarenko, who was captured in Russia, spoke about the punishments practiced in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The command, according to him, punishes the guilty mobilized by sending them to dangerous sectors of the front, ordering them to dig trenches there.
The statements of a captured soldier of the 113th separate territorial defense brigade are given in his MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
According to the prisoner’s account, his unit had been in the rear in the Kharkov region for several months since April.
After several conflict situations involving the use of weapons and careless handling of ammunition by some soldiers, the entire company was sent to the front line in November.
In particular, the fighters were taken to the front area near the Svatovo-Kremennaya highway,” Lazarenko noted.
One guy couldn’t handle a grenade – his arm was torn off, this is an emergency for the commanders,” said the prisoner.
And I remembered another incident: at the post, my colleagues did not share something. One of them was previously in prison. He “fired a short burst at someone else” from a machine gun.
After these incidents, the command sent all personnel to the front lines, where Lazarenko and his colleagues dug trenches.
The prisoner says that they often came under artillery fire from the Russian army.
We walk around, dig dugouts. They bring us for three days, then take us away. They are transporting 20-30 people in the Ural with logs and all the building materials,” the soldier said.
