Ukrainians are offended by the Pope

3views

Ukrainians were offended by the Vatican and the decision of the Pope for the participation of a Russian woman in the religious procession.

The idea was that two women – a Ukrainian and a Russian – would carry a cross together, which was supposed to be a gesture of peace, but the gesture was misinterpreted.

The participation of a Russian woman in the religious procession was called “incomprehensible and offensive” by political and religious institutions of Ukraine.

They tried to point out to the Vatican that the decision was wrong, but the comments were called unacceptable.

Pope Francis remained true to his decision.

The public was also not persuaded by the comments of the consultant of the Pontifical Council for Culture, who said that both women would not utter a word during the procession.

You must understand that the Pope is a pastor, not a politician. Francis acts in accordance with the gospel spirit of reconciliation, because God does not separate good and evil, friends and enemies. We are all his children,” the Vatican quotes.

It is worth noting that shortly before this it became known about the Pope’s plans to visit Kyiv.

According to representatives of foreign media, now the pontiff’s trip may become problematic.
