33views

Canadian doctors have been trying for two years to figure out what unknown disease is affecting residents of one of the provinces.

Several brain diseases are known to affect young people living in New Brunswick. The diagnosis was confirmed in 48 people.

In Canada, doctors are studying a little-studied brain disease, reports.

At the moment, neither the mechanism of its development nor the reasons that provoke the disease are known.

Patients complain of memory impairment, muscle spasms, disturbances in the vestibular system, hallucinations, weight loss and pain in the extremities.

Similar symptoms are observed in patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, or mad cow disease.

In total, the diagnosis was confirmed in 48 patients, but the number of patients may increase to 150 people.

As for deaths, there are 8 such cases.

Residents of one region are complaining about a neurological disease, and it is increasingly affecting young people.

Doctors cannot yet say what caused such a rapid deterioration in the cognitive functions of young people.
