US nuclear submarine collides with unknown object in South China Sea

The US Navy nuclear submarine USS Connecticut (SSN 22) collided with an unknown object in the South China Sea.

As a result of the incident, the nuclear installation was not damaged, there were no casualties or serious injuries. The incident became known on October 7.

It is known that 11 servicemen from the American submarine were injured in the collision, but the nature of the injuries was not specified.

According to CNN, the USS Connecticut took part in a “show of force” operation in the South China Sea.

In addition to the US Navy, Great Britain, Japan, Australia, Canada and the Netherlands took part in the Carrier Strike Group 21 events.
