The Serbian authorities will resist the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions as long as they can.

This statement was made on May 15 by the country’s President Aleksandar Vucic.

Serbia’s position

On the Prva TV channel, Vucic said that Serbia is paying a huge price for not joining the sanctions against Russia.

He noted that Serbia does not have access to the capital market and does not have the ability to service loans.

We will fight as long as we cansaid the head of the Serbian state.

According to Vucic, Serbia is suffering great damage by not introducing sanctions against Russia, but will continue to resist because it is an independent country.

The head of the Serbian state also noted that the issue of sanctions against Russia is related to prices for gas and other energy resources.

Previously, the Serbian President stated that the country’s economy is 100% dependent on Russian gas and that Serbia hopes for a good price in upcoming gas negotiations with Russia.

Vucic also previously stated that Serbia supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but will not impose sanctions against Russia.

According to him, Serbia considers Ukraine and Russia fraternal countries, regrets what is happening in Eastern Europe and is ready to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
