Watch the Earth taken from space (as we have never seen it before): 4K video

0views

You will fly between sunrises and auroras, between landscapes and breathtaking views: all filmed from the International Space Station. This is our Earth

People who can see the Earth from space are amazed by its beauty, the colors, the fragility they feel towards the planet 400 kilometers below them. Now it’s your turn: this ultra-high definition video, captured during Expedition 65 of the International Space Station, allows you to admire our home planet in all its splendor (the International Space Station it’s a laboratory which orbits at approximately 400 km altitude at a speed of 27,000 km/h). Getting lost in this enchantment is easy: very often we forget the beauty of our planet. Our main objective must be to preserve and respect it, it is our home! The following footage was shot from the International Space Station between April 17, 2021 and October 17, 2021. Here is the Terra: good vision.

Some info about our Planet

With a radius of 6,371 kilometers, Earth is the largest of the terrestrial planets and the fifth largest overall in the solar system. The Earth is exactly one astronomical unit (150 million kilometers) away from and this unit is defined just like the Earth-Sun distance. It takes about eight minutes for light from the Sun, traveling at about 300,000 km/s, to reach our planet. When the solar system settled into its current configuration, about 4.5 billion years ago, the Earth formed thanks to gravity bringing together gas and dust. Like other terrestrial planets, our planet has a central core, a rocky mantle and a solid crust.

As the Earth orbits the Sun, it completes one rotation every 23.9 hours. It takes 365.25 days to complete one revolution around the . The 4 additional hours are made up every four years by adding a day. That day and year are called leap year. Earth’s rotation axis is tilted 23.4 degrees relative to the plane of Earth’s orbit around the Sun. This inclination causes the annual cycle of the seasons.
