“We win together or we lose alone”, says Andrei Rodrigues about combating organized crime

The director general of the Federal Police (PF), Andrei Rodrigues, commented on the importance of international cooperation in combating organized crime and .

“I’ve been saying that either we win together or we lose alone. Working and confronting organized crime without thinking about internal integration and international cooperation is a guaranteed failure”, said Rodrigues during a panel at the II International Sphere Forum in Rome, Italy, this Saturday (12).

The general director stated that the PF has representatives in 22 countries, including Italy. In addition, there is also cooperation with Interpol, Ameripol and Europol.

“We already have several joint investigation teams, both with European and South American countries,” stated Rodrigues.

He also recalled two agreements that he hopes will advance with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, who is expected to visit Brazil next year, which will take place in November.

“”, stated the general director. He also recalled the operation with Europol, to combat trafficking in women in Europe.

The PF general director also spoke about plans to combat the region and the agreement with BNDES to finance combat in the region.

“Yesterday, we finalized the issue of launching financing with BNDES for the Amazon International Police Cooperation Center, where we will bring together the nine Amazon countries, the nine Brazilian Amazon states, working together, above all, against environmental crimes, but other related crimes in that region.”
