23views

Parliamentary elections were held in Russia from September 17 to 19.

Based on the voting results, 450 people should become deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

225 parliamentarians will be elected to the legislative body on party lists, and another 225 people will be elected in single-mandate constituencies.

The counting of votes is still ongoing. Preliminary voting results were published on the official website of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.

Party lists

After processing 30.65 percent of the protocols, the results were as follows: the United Russia party became the leader with 45.14 percent of the votes.

The second place was taken by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. At the moment, she shows a result of 21.85 percent of the votes.

The LDPR is in third place with 8.35 percent of the votes, and “A Just Russia – For Truth” is in fourth place (7.42 percent).

The intermediate fifth place is occupied by the New People party (6.34 percent).

So far, all of the above parties have entered the State Duma, since the entry barrier is 5 percent.

However, it is possible that the New People party will still not be able to form a faction in the Russian legislative body, since, according to the exit poll, this political force has not overcome the 5 percent barrier.

As for the other parties, they all scored less than 5 percent both in the exit poll and in the preliminary data of the Central Election Commission.

Single-member districts

According to preliminary data, the United Russia party will receive an absolute majority of seats based on the results of voting under the majoritarian system.

At the moment, representatives of this political force are leaders in 189 districts.

Members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation win the vote in 15 districts, and members of A Just Russia – For Truth – in 6 districts.

The parties LDPR, Yabloko, Rodina and Civic Platform have one leader each.

In addition, 5 self-nominated candidates win the vote in single-mandate constituencies.

Taking into account the total number of candidates, the United Russia party “takes” the majority of seats in the Duma.
