This statement was made on February 28 by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby.
What Kirby said about Ukraine’s victory
In an interview with the agency, Kirby said that the United States really wants Ukraine to win.
A White House spokesman expressed confidence that the Ukrainians will be able to win.
But they themselves will determine what victory will look like for them – stated the official.
According to him, Kyiv, according to the United States, expects to go on the offensive in the spring, when the weather improves.
Speaking about a diplomatic settlement of the conflict, Kirby noted that Ukraine must decide for itself when and under what conditions to begin negotiations with Russia, and whether they are needed at all.
The White House spokesman also said that Russia does not demonstrate a desire to negotiate in good faith.
